Common Sense or Common Stupid?

Once upon a time, in a long ago land we learned our lessons the old fashioned way, Mother Nature took care of it. We learned if you touch the stove, you will be burned. & we learned the hard way.

It was common sense to not drink HOT Coffee till it cooled just a bit. We never thought of suing someone for making it to hot! I mean DUH its coffee people!

We knew we shouldn't use electronics around water. I don't know about you, but i usually wait till AFTER I get out of the shower to blow my hair dry. Why all the warnings all of a sudden? I mean since when did we become so smart we lost our common sense?

When i was growing up getting dirty was part of the fun! Now i see moms with antibacterial soap or foam at the park washing their kids hands like every other minute! Germs can actually be GOOD for you!! This is how your body makes antibodies so you wont catch that cold, or disease. Not only does Mother Nature provide lessons (like the hot stove) she also provides nutrition, antibodies, & fun!

Dirt is FUN!! getting wet is FUN!! Just using your common sense can even be fun!! I think people are to smart, they have lost all common sense!!! I watched a guy walk across the street, didn't even bother to see the car RIGHT THERE (the car actually had the right of way as it was there 1st) the man didn't bother looking both ways before crossing the street! then had the balls to shoot the other person the finger & say some, well offending words! I think his mama didn't love him enough to teach him, or he got so book smart he forgot his street smarts.

Since when is a pop on the ass of a misbehaving child wrong? My brother & sisters & I got quite a few & guess what, none of us are drug addicts, serial killers, robbers, or disturbed. Actually its my generation that has the kids of today out on the street doing the "bad" things, & its quite upsetting.

We take our kids to soccer, scouts, ballet, football, singing lessons, piano lessons, etc till we are sick to death. When does the common sense lesson come in? Teachers don't teach it, its not their job. We have child prodigy's that haven't learned the basic skills of just living!! We are raising the next Presidents, Governors, leaders. Does this bother anyone else???

I'm just as guilty. I feel bad when i tell my kids no. So sometimes I give in. I let them disrespect me. They talk down to me. Well they used to. Its funny how saying no actually can make them happy! How grounding them can teach them a lesson. How making them suffer a few consequences can actually change their out look on life. A good smack on the ass puts some common sense back in their head. Its simply amazing!!

We turned our kids over to the schools, they didn't want them, so they taught them how parents have no rights, & must do everything the child wants, or the child has a right to call CPS. I dial the phone for my children. Its time WE take our place in our children's lives & let the teachers do their job, teach them book sense. Its OUR job to teach them street smarts (or common sense as it is also called) it is our job to let Mother Nature do HER job & teach them also!!

A good smack on the butt never hurts either....

whatever... I'm just saying
